We’re proud to announce that Vanguard Audio Labs microphones are integral to recording at the only Dolby Atmos recording studio in Hungary.

“Back in 2021 September I was asked to make a piano recordings for a Polish movie. The production team initially asked for it in 5.1 surround format, but I had decided to record it with my special microphone setup, so I we will be able to deliver a Dolby Atmos version too.”

“So I have used as a basic seven microphone setup: a Decca Tree augmented with two flank microphones and a surround pair. Plus, I have used an 8 microphone Atmos “Lindberg Cube” setup (named after Morten Lindberg, the Grammy-winning immersive engineer): 8 omni mics in a 1.2m cube, for this I am using 8x Vanguard V1s with the omni capsule.

Istvan Matok – besides his work as an audio engineer, he leads his company Digital Pro, which is a distributing pro audio equipment in Hungary for two decades – making acoustic recordings, mainly jazz and classical. Digital Pro is the first and still the only Hungarian studio which makes Dolby Atmos recordings and mixing.
