Pro session artist Vikram Vivekanand, who looks much, much cooler than me.
I recently received a message from Vikram Vivekanand, a pro session artist from Chennai, India. He has done studio & live guitar work with Grey Shack, IndoSoul, Junkyard Groove, Wascally Wabbit, and Vic and The Big Fish, among others. He recently visited our Indian distributor ProMusicals to do some session work, and tested several microphones for his acoustic guitar, including the V44S gen2 Stereo FET Condenser.
The result was clear. “I have never ever heard my guitar recorded as beautifully as it sounds with the Vanguard V44S microphone. We did audition a couple of other mics from another company, but I preferred [the V44S].I played two different parts, with two different picks, and the mic heard the difference. I played back the recording of my acoustic to the band and they went nuts.
I loved [the V44S]. All I needed to do was put it at the 12th fret. [The only editing] I did was put a low-cut at 65Hz…I like gear that gets me from point A to point B very quickly, that lets me spend time making music and not tweaking.”

UPDATE: Vikram was also kind enough to send us the audio file.
