Singer-songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs‘ songs have been heard on Bojack Horseman, Grey’s Anatomy, Weeds, Suburgatory, and more. She has released several albums, including the one that introduced me to her music, An Unwavering Band Of Light.
Jenny recently picked up a Vanguard V13 gen2 and has been in love with it. From Jenny:
“I’ve been using the V13 gen2 nonstop since I got it, and it sounds incredible. I love it on vocals and acoustic guitars; in particular, it captures the richness of my nylon string beautifully. It’s smooth, it’s warm, and it’s got vibe for days.”
Jenny has not only released several albums of her own, but also spends much of her time in various states of collaboration, writing with and for other artists including Pitbull, Briston Maroney, Ingrid Michaelson, Shungudzo, Donnal Missal, and more. Jenny also co-wrote the Panic! at the Disco 5x platinum single “High Hopes.” She is a founding member of the surf-pop quartet L.A. Exes, whose debut album Get Some was released in the summer of 2021. In a word – prolific!
Her latest release, It’s Dangerous to Go Alone, is a collection of four songs inspired by some of Youngs’ favorite gaming pursuits from childhood to present day (Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros, Skyrim, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild). At Vanguard, we consider this record a “must-listen”!
Thrilled to welcome Jenny to the Vanguard family! You can check out her work wherever you listen to music, on her website, or follow her on Instagram.
