Ever since I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed Commercial Music major back at university, I’ve always loved reading the monthly Sound on Sound magazine. Their honest reviews, brilliantly-written technical articles, and finger-thick issues were always helpful to get me through marathon 4-hour GE classes.
Well, now I have another reason to love Sound on Sound – they’ve released a fantastic review of our V1S+LOLLI Pencil Condenser Microphone System. Writes Neil Rogers:
“The V1S is all housed in a single pinewood storage case and, as well as looking and feeling very nice indeed, you can’t help but be impressed by the sheer amount of stuff you have in front of you when you first open the box! The mic bodies themselves…very solid-feeling VSSM shockmounts…the eight small-diaphragm capsules…a bar for stereo applications…and, last but not least, the very shiny-looking large-diaphragm LOLLI capsule option.
“I had a good variety of recording sessions booked in when the V1S Kit arrived at my studio and the whole system saw plenty of use over the review period.”
Read Neil’s deep dive into the V1S+LOLLI kit here. He provides takes for cello, voice, guitar, drums, and more! Sound on Sound generously gave us a copy of the full review as a free preview for Vanguard Audio Lab customers. I highly encourage you to subscribe to their fantastic magazine. If you’re a fan of honest gear reviews, amazing studio tip articles, and a big dose of audio engineer reading material, give them a shot for only $5 a month for the print edition!
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. (909) 920-5600 or bonjour@vanguardaudiolabs.com. I look forward to to hearing from you!
