Nick Nagurka is a recording and mixing engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. He has a degree in sound engineering from the University of Michigan, and has been working in studio and live environments since 2006.
Previously on staff at Brooklyn Recording, Nick is currently the FOH and IEM engineer for Theo Katzman. He also just engineered for Vulfpeck’s new album “Schvitz”.
When not working on music, spends most of his time drinking coffee and building bicycles. He used to like working on aircooled Volkswagens, but he lives in New York. He is pet-friendly.
Nick said this about his Vanguard V44S gen2 Stereo FET Condenser:
“The V44s is one of the most versatile & naturally voiced mics in our collection. It’s delightfully easy to place – both in the room and in the mix.
Backing vocals? Piano? Drums? Room mic? Accordion? An entire ensemble? Yes.
We used the V44s on all the backing vocals for the new Vulfpeck record, ‘Sauna’. Felt like cheating. 3 singers? XY. 4 singers? Blumlein. Done.
Oh and the build quality rules.”
