John True is a producer, songwriter, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, California. He has spent the last few years behind the scenes playing keyboards both in studio and live with a variety of artists, and has recently emerged songwriting with Lia Marie Johnson, Bella Kaye, & the new Alt rock band HUE(s). His work usually finds him combing the roles of a songwriter and a producer, with the aim of helping new artists craft the best songs possible, while maintaining the authentic sound that only they can express. With his varied background of live performance, classical piano, analog synthesizers, and modern production, John is forging his own path and creating incredible music with everyone he works with.
John recently picked up a Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser. From John:
“The V13 is one of the best mics I’ve ever used. The first time I heard it, I was blown away. I compared it to one of ‘those’ vintage german tube microphones, and I couldn’t believe I was hearing something that matched the sound of a microphone 10x the cost. I’ve used it on male and female vocals, and as a mono room mic for drums. It shines on anything you put it in front of, and it sounds just like a great tube condenser should. Warm and detailed mids, detailed but never harsh highs, and right in your face. This has quickly become my go to microphone for almost any source, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I’m recommending the V13 to all of my friends, and you’d be wise to pick one up! You won’t regret it. “
