Project Description

Recording Artist, Songwriter, Producer

“Everything I’m doing here is really personal and very private. I almost dare not bring out the songs, because I reveal so much about myself in my music. “

Jannik Brunke is a solo artist working out of Berlin, Germany. Originally from the sparsely populated northern areas of Germany, he learned to compose, produce, play and record his own music out of necessity. At 23 years old, he is the sole producer of every creative aspect of his music. He plays every instrument, shoots and edits every video, and does the majority of the engineering on all his music.

Jannik takes his fans through his music on the most personal journey to himself. Jannik Brunke is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and above all a real, genuine personality. As a result, he has accrued over 160,000 YouTube subscribers. He regularly tours through Europe, with an especially strong fanbase in Germany and Switzerland.

Jannik contacted us because he was frustrated with the vocal sounds he was getting at his home studio. At large studios during final recording, he had access to vintage microphones with a price tag that equalled their wonderful sound. But at home, he had tried many clones and was unsatisfied with the results. He wanted his vocal tone to be creatively inspiring. After trying the Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser courtesy of our wonderful German distributor, he has chosen it as his main vocal microphone. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“I was always looking for a microphone with a unique characteristic sound. I tried out U47s, Manleys, C12s, but I never found a microphone that captured my voice so perfectly by bringing out the tone, closeness, and warmth of my voice. Before, I couldn’t reproduce the vibe of my first vocal takes in a big studio, because I record them at home on my own. With my Vanguard V13, I am now able to use my demo vocals in the finished production.  I’m very grateful to be part of the Vanguard family!”
