Solo Artist, Mark Lettieri, Us The Duo
Brian Ward is one of Los Angeles’s most in-demand musicians as an award-winning bassist, producer, session musician, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist.
After attending the prestigious University of North Texas jazz program and performing as a member of the world-renowned One O’Clock Lab Band, Brian graduated Magna cum Laude with a degree in Jazz Studies (Bass Performance) and moved to Southern California to further his career. He immediately found a home in the highly competitive Los Angeles scene, where he has performed, recorded, and traveled internationally with world-renowned artists like Aubrey Logan, Mark Lettieri, Us the Duo, Jane Monheit, Ruslan Sirota, Jacob Mann, Ilya Serov, Downbeat LA, and countless others.
Brian continues to perform and produce prolifically in the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. He most recently orchestration-assisted and recorded multiple instruments for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Golden Globe Awards, with composer and orchestrator Geoff Stradling (Mad Men, Smurfs, Batman: The Dark Knight Rises), and can be heard on the soundtrack to the blockbuster “Zombieland: Double Tap” for composer David Sardy.
Brian said this about his Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser:
“The V13 has become my go to mic for all instruments, but especially for my upright bass. It gives all the bottom, wood clarity, and tube warmth that I hear when I play my bass acoustically. I’ve never been happier with the sound a mic gives me, no matter the room or use!”
