Our good friends Raniero Palm and Boris Milan shared this amazing video & audio production with us from Felipe Peláez’s Grammy-nominated record “Ponle Actitud”.
Using ProTools Ultimate’s cloud sync, this song was tracked live, simultaneously in two locations – Victoria Records in Monterrey Mexico, and Boris’ studio in Miami, Florida. Gilberto Santa Rosa’s vocals are recorded on our V13 tube microphone. We are proud to be a part of this incredible technological feat! From Raniero – “Among the select microphone list chosen, the spotlight lies over the Neumann u87 (Felipe Pelaez), Vanguard Audio Labs V13 (Gilberto Santa Rosa), two stereo pair AKG C12 (Acoustic Guitars), and Neumann M150, u47 FET, and KM184 (String Section).” That’s some nice company we’re keeping. Due to Gilberto Santa Rosa’s previous commitments in the U.S. Award winning Engineers Boris Milan & Rolando Alejandro were in charge of recording the vocals while Jose Martinez provided video documentation. All of this while in Victoria Records Dani Baron (also lead guitarist), Guillermo Lefeld, James Joubran, Luis Alejandro Bermudez, Rubén Salas, and all the crew at Victoria Records were in charge of achieving the best technical and musical results to tape.
Among the select microphone list chosen, the spotlight lies over the Neumann u87 (Felipe Pelaez), Vanguard Audio Labs V13 (Gilberto Santa Rosa), two stereo pair AKG C12 (Acoustic Guitars), and Neumann M150, u47 FET, and KM184 (String Section)
Final Mixing by Orlando DiPietro in Il Mondo Records in Ciudad de Mexico, and mastering by Antonio Baglio in Miami Mastering.
Arranged by Dani Baron (Guitars), Raniero Palm (Producer and Conductor), and Jesus David Medina (Violinist Concertino). This musical masterpiece unwinds from a verse and chorus performed on guitar serenading a love confession into a surprising Violoncello melodic motive announcing the orquestal string section by VSRE Venezuelan Strings Recording Ensemble further developing the melodic motive until a half step modulation presents the violin solo. Then a reduction Coda orchetral passage by the Violoncello farewells the song into conclusion.
These beautiful arrangements invite the listener to flying towards a space that without a doubt takes our breath away.”
