The 66th Annual Grammy Awards were held Sunday night in Los Angeles, CA. We’re humbled and honored to say that there were several Vanguard connections (and a few stage appearances!)
First off, one of our earliest adopters Gaby Moreno won Best Latin Pop Album for her album X Mí (Vol. 1), shortly after her mesmerizing live performance of “Luna de Xelajú”. Gaby gave us an interview last year about her love of the Vanguard V13 Tube Condenser and her album Alegoria. Congratulations to Gaby on another Grammy win!
Hardcore Vanguard acolytes will recognize Olivia Rodrigo’s use of the Vanguard V44S gen2 Stereo FET Condenser from a few different places. It popped up again on Sunday, with the V44S capturing drum overheads on her live performance of “Vampire”. You can watch the performance here.
Finally, Miley Cyrus had a fantastic performance of “Flowers” after her first Grammy win for Best Pop Solo Performance. The V44S once again played the role of drum overhead capture, proving that we designed a mic that can withstand the rigors of stage use. And many thanks to engineers Brian Pomp (Oliva Rodrigo) and Paul David Hager (Miley Cyrus).
