We’re always thrilled to share work by artists using our microphones. The music industry, in my estimation, is first and foremost a community of creators. Our job at Vanguard is to make tools for those creators, and we love hearing what they make with our microphones!
On that note, congratulations / Felicidades to Juan H. Trevino on his Latin Grammy win for Best Tejano Music Album. His record “Para Empezar a Amar” was recorded with his trusty Vanguard V13. He used it to capture vocals, bajo quinto, and accordion. It continues to be his studio mainstay and we’re looking forward to Juan’s continued releases!

For those like me who want to know what Tejano music is, here’s the definition straight from Wikipedia. “Tejano is a popular music style fusing Mexican and US influences. Typically, Tejano combines Mexican Spanish vocal styles with dance rhythms from Czech and German genres – particularly polka or waltz. Tejano music is traditionally played by small groups featuring accordion and guitar or bajo sexto. Its evolution began in northern Mexico (a variation known as norteño).”
