I did a mic shootout with a few other brands, Souyuz 17 tube ($4,500), Souyuz 23, Mojave MA300 and AKG 414 EB I believe from the 80s. The V13 exceeded my expectations; for me it was in the same league as the Souyuz as far as quality but it has its own sound.

The hi-mid and hi range is very easy to the ears and it saves me from eq’ing out a bit of the extra body captured by some mics. You made a mic that sounds like a vocal should sound to sit nicely on a mix. I prefer the V13 over the Mojave and the AKG for both vocals and acoustic guitars.”
